 Fry's has the Polk RTi8 speakers for $149 each. Shipping was about $20 for me. Believe it or not, it is actually cheaper to order two separately because of their strange shipping calculations.
They are also available in cherry.
Before you complain that these are too expensive, go to any serious home theatre store where these are in stock and see what they want to charge you.
This price is at least $50 better per speaker than anything else I've seen.
Also, anyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for Polk.
I collect old and new Polk speakers when I can. If I had room in my
house I'd be all over this deal given that I paid roughly the price you
see here for bookshelf Polk speakers from this same line a few years
ago! (I might give in anyway since we're seriously thinking about moving.)
Also, this tiny pic doesn't do these speakers justice. Go see them on the Fry's site.
Better yet, go see and hear them in person sometime and hope they go
on sale for this price again. If they do, Fry's is likely to only have
the cherry ones in stock later on as black is usually more popular.
(That's what I've noticed anyway. The wifey won't let me buy cherry as
it clashes with the furniture.)
