 Newegg has the Logitech LX 710 Laser USB Cordless Standard Desktop for $35 (+ shipping) after rebate and a coupon code.
I have another older Cordless Desktop setup and love it, so I'm sure this is better than what I have. This cordless desktop has 4.5-5 star reviews on Newegg and on Amazon. Also, I've found Logitech's laser mice usually track extremely well on a variety of surfaces.
